[BYWG BLOG] How You Can Have More Confidence
According to Wikipedia…
“Confidence has a common meaning of a certainty about handling something, such as work, family, social events, or relationships. Some have ascribed confidence as a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective.”
Confidence is about believing and feeling that you can do a task successfully and knowing you are resilient enough to rise above failure or obstacles.
Here are some tips and strategies to implement in your everyday life as well as over time to improve self-confidence:
✔️ Self-Assessment – Confidence is built by experiencing achievement, not through hollow praise. Kids who grew up with a realistic appraisal of their abilities and not someone telling them they were good at everything, develop a strategy to strengthen themselves. They are able to make improvements and see the positive changes.
✔️ Visualization – If you can conceive it, you can achieve it. Confident people are able to visualize their success before they even accomplish it.
✔️ Use criticism to help you grow – When you use failures and criticism as feedback, you will improve your performance and have more confidence the next time you have to perform that task.
✔️ Sit up straight – Research has found that sitting up straight gives you more confidence in your own thoughts.
✔️ Surround yourself with confident people – The people we are around greatly influence our thoughts and actions. You are likely to start acting more like the people you surround yourself with.
