Dr. Danenberg is a periodontist. He received his dental degree (DDS) from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1972, and his Specialty Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Maryland, School of Graduate Dentistry in 1974. He now practices in Bluffton, SC.

He divides his 43-year dental career into two periods: before and after the laser coupled with the dynamics of ancestral nutrition. The laser-based LANAP® protocol and the importance of ancestral nutrition, he believes, are revolutionizing his treatment of gum disease. LANAP is an acronym for Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure and requires no scalpels or sutures.

In July 2014, he received a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner designation and in September 2014, he received the designation of Certified Primal Health Coach.

In July 2015, Dr. Danenberg created the Integrative Periodontal Module for the College of Integrative Medicine’s 300-hour certified program.

In December 2016, he created a 5-Part, 7-Hour CE accredited course for dentists and dental hygienists titled, Beat the Beast of Dental Disease.

In April 2017, he was awarded the designation of ADAPT Trained Health Professional from Kresser Institute, the only functional medicine and evolutionary health training company.
